The first annual Dalton Defenders Bowl game matched up the 4th ranked Rochester Community & Technical College Yellow Jackets against the 10th ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens on December 1, 2002. Coffeyville running back, Brandon Jacobs (New York Giants), 6-foot-4, 250 pounds, rushed for 259 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries assisting the Coffeyville Red Ravens on their way to a victory over the Rochester Yellow Jackets by a score of 55-7.

On November 30, 2003 the 8th ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens hosted the 5th ranked Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Golden Norseman in the 2nd annual Dalton Defenders Bowl game. In what turned out to be a battle the Golden Norseman went on to defeat the Red Ravens by a score of 30-27.

On November 24, 2004 the third annual Dalton Defenders Bowl game was a match up against the #1 ranked Butler Community College Grizzlies and the #2 ranked Pearl River Community College Wildcats. Even though Butler was a powerhouse through out the season they could not overcome the spectacular passing attack of the Wildcats who went on to defeat Butler by a score of 35-14. Ultimately the Pearl River Wildcats were awarded the sole title of Champions by the NJCAA. Click here for pictures from the 2004 Game
The 4th annual Dalton Defenders Bowl which was held on November 27, 2005 hosted the 9th ranked Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldogs and the 10th ranked Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Golden Norseman. Despite strong storms, 45 miles per hour winds, and a 40 minute delay, the Golden Norseman were once again able to become victorious in their 2nd appearance at the Dalton Defenders Bowl by beating the Bulldogs by a score of 21-19.

The 5th annual Dalton Defenders Bowl matched up the #4 Butler County Grizzlies from El Dorado, Kansas against the #6 Vermillion Community College Ironmen from Ely, Minnesota. The day belonged to the Butler County Grizzlies who scored a bowl record 57 points while their stifling defense held the Ironmen to 0 points.
